Rountree Losee LLP is pleased to announce that Special Counsel George Rountree, III has been awarded the StarNews Lifetime Achievement Award. The StarNews Lifetime Achievement Award honors individuals who have given substantially of themselves for the improvement of the communities of Southeastern North Carolina.
Mr. Rountree III joins those locally honored that have given back to the community in many areas, including economic development, education, philanthropy, health, preservation, arts, and the environment.
The event was attended by Mr. Rountree’s wife, Sylvia, daughters, Cindy Wiseman and Val Anderson, their husbands, his granddaughter, Brittany Parish, Rountree’s assistant of almost 40 years, Carolyn Strickland, and the firm’s partners, among many others.
Nearly 83 years old, Mr. Rountree and his wife have annually donated substantial amounts to make the region a better place. Their support has benefited a slew of area causes, including:
- New Hanover Regional Medical Center;
- Wilmington’s Miracle League Field;
- The Open Gate Domestic Violence shelter;
- Area Local High Schools;
- UNCW; and
- Cape Fear Community College.
