Melissa Atkinson’s practice concentrates primarily on estate planning and administration. She has been in general practice counseling clients in the matters of criminal law, business law and administration, and other civil matters. Melissa strives to provide cost effective services to her clients and combines her knowledge of the law with common-sense principles.
In her estate planning practice, Melissa coordinates the realities of her client’s families with a plan that helps the client feel at ease about the disposition of their assets. Melissa uses a variety of tools to help accomplish the client’s goals including wills, trusts, business succession plans, and power of attorneys.
Melissa also serves executors or administrators in the estate administration process. She guides the personal representative through the estate administration process, helping them to understand and accomplish their tasks as required by law.
Prior to joining Rountree Losee, Melissa was a Partner at Swinson and Atkinson, Attorneys at Law, PLLC where she served both Pender and Duplin counties at her general practice. As a native of Pender County, Melissa enjoys using her work to serve her community.
