We are excited to announce the promotion of Andy Jones to equity partner, the return of Jason Harris as a partner, and welcome the addition Anna Richardson Smith as of counsel at Rountree Losee LLP. The contributions of Mr. Jones, Mr. Harris, and Mrs. Richardson Smith to our legal team ensures that our clients will receive fresh perspective and experience, while continuing to add to our firm’s long-standing legacy of excellence and reputation for success.

Mr. Jones joined Rountree Losee in 2013 and focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation and business law. As an equity partner, Mr. Jones will continue to advise clients and litigate cases involving all forms of civil and commercial disputes in North Carolina state and federal courts. He will also lead the firm’s business practice, assisting clients with their business law and transactional needs, and provide general counsel to a broad range of business owners and entrepreneurs, from start-ups to publicly traded companies.

Returning to Rountree Losee, Mr. Harris rejoins the team after serving as General Counsel for Ardent Worldwide Limited, an international marine salvage, wreck removal, and underwater services company. In his new role, Mr. Harris will add insight and experience in dealing with maritime and transportation cases, construction disputes, and corporate law.

In her new position as of counsel, Mrs. Richardson Smith will advise employers on legal compliance and risk mitigation strategies. Her legal services include thorough analyses of advertising and interviewing habits, I-9 compliance, employment agreements (including restrictive covenants), pay practices, termination procedures, and documentation requirements. She also engages in labor and employment-related litigation, and is skilled in providing targeted training for business supervisors, such as anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training, aimed at helping companies better communicate with employees. Mrs. Richardson Smith is licensed to practice in Virginia, and her North Carolina licensure is pending.

Geoffrey Losee has assumed the role of managing partner at the firm and Steve Coggins continues as partner. These leadership changes and new additions to the firm pave the way for the successful transition of George Rountree III to his new role as special counsel. Mr. Rountree will continue to be actively involved in the firm, advising clients in all areas of the firm’s practice, counseling the firm’s attorneys, and helping to advance the firm’s key priorities, including business and professional development. We look forward to Mr. Rountree’s continued service to our clients, providing his vast business and legal knowledge and experience as a firm resource, as well as the youthful legal perspective provided by our new equity partner, returning partner, and of counsel.

Thank you for your partnership and commitment as we welcome a new era at our firm. We are proud to be your zealous advocates in litigation and counselors for success.
