Rountree Lossee LLP is proud to recognize Partner, Steve Coggins, on his appointment to the State Banking Commission.

“North Carolina is a leader in banking, and this Commission provides important expertise and oversight for our state’s banks.” – Governor Roy Cooper.

The Banking Commission is chaired by State Treasurer, Dale Folwell, and consists of 14 appointed members. Governor Roy Cooper, recently selected eight new appointees to the Commission, including Mr. Coggins.

The Commission serves many vital roles that are integral to continued stability and development of North Carolina’s banking system. Those roles include, but are not limited to, supervising, directing, and reviewing the activities of The Office of the Commissioner of Banks under the North Carolina Banking Laws. Other activities of the commission may include, reviewing pending notices and approving the openings, or closings, of banking branches.

Our very own Steve Coggins will bring years of experience as a litigation and regulatory attorney, as well as, his knack for successful business development, and years of philanthropic experience to the Commission.
